Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel my Dr. PlantCare Premium subscription?
All subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. To cancel:
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Dr. PlantCare, then Cancel Subscription.
Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. See Apple's guide: support.apple.com/HT202039.
How do I request a refund?
Apple handles all refunds for purchases made through the App Store. We cannot issue refunds directly.
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap "I'd like to" and choose Request a refund.
- Choose a reason, then select your Dr. PlantCare purchase.
- Submit. Apple will email you with their decision.
Refunds are granted at Apple's discretion.
How do I restore my Premium subscription on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase, then in Dr. PlantCare go to Profile → Restore Purchases. Your entitlement will unlock within a few seconds.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app: Profile → Delete Account. This removes your account, plant records, diagnosis history, and uploaded images from our servers. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you prefer, email us at support@drplantcare.com from the email on file and we'll process the deletion within 30 days.
Note: deleting your Dr. PlantCare account does not cancel an active Apple subscription. Cancel the subscription first via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
My watering reminders aren't showing up.
First, make sure notifications are enabled for Dr. PlantCare:
- Settings → Notifications → Dr. PlantCare and turn Allow Notifications on.
- Inside the app, open Settings → Notifications and confirm reminder times are turned on.
- Make sure Focus / Do Not Disturb is not silencing the app.
Still nothing after 24 hours? Email us with your timezone and we'll investigate.
The plant identification got it wrong.
Dr. PlantCare uses AI and it's not always right, especially for rare cultivars or low-light photos. Try a brighter, closer photo of a healthy leaf and the full plant shape. If it's still off, email us the photo and what you believe the plant is — your report genuinely helps us improve.
Is the plant advice a substitute for a professional?
No. Dr. PlantCare provides informational AI-generated guidance, not professional advice. For serious plant health concerns, or if a pet has ingested a potentially toxic plant, consult a horticulturist or veterinarian. For pet emergencies in the US, call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at +1 (888) 426-4435.
Which devices does Dr. PlantCare support?
iPhone running iOS 16 or later. iPad is supported but the app is optimized for phone. An Android version is planned.
I have a feature request or feedback.
Please send it to support@drplantcare.com. We keep a list and many of the features in the app came directly from users writing in.
