Cancellation & Refund Policy
Dr. PlantCare Premium is a subscription sold exclusively through Apple's App Store. Because Apple processes the payment, Apple — not Trial and Error, Inc. — controls cancellations and refunds. This page explains what that means for you and how to get help quickly.
1. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel any active Dr. PlantCare Premium subscription at any time directly on your device. Cancellation stops the next auto-renewal; your Premium access stays active until the end of the current billing period.
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Dr. PlantCare, then Cancel Subscription.
Apple's official guide: support.apple.com/HT202039.
2. Auto-renewal terms
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews for the same period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can view or change your subscription and auto-renewal in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial (where offered) is forfeited when you upgrade.
3. Refunds
Apple handles all refund requests under their Media Services Terms and Conditions. Trial and Error, Inc. cannot see your payment method, cannot reverse an Apple charge, and cannot issue refunds directly.
To request a refund:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in with the Apple ID you used to buy Dr. PlantCare Premium.
- Choose Request a refund, pick a reason, and select your Dr. PlantCare purchase.
- Submit. Apple will email you with their decision, typically within 48 hours.
Refund outcomes are entirely at Apple's discretion. Most markets have consumer-protection rules that require refunds in specific circumstances (for example, EU law allows a 14-day withdrawal right for digital subscriptions, subject to conditions). Those rules apply regardless of anything written here.
4. Accidental or duplicate purchases
If you were charged twice, charged by a family member on a shared Apple ID, or purchased on the wrong account, submit the request through reportaproblem.apple.com. Let us know by email as well and we will do our best to help you get a resolution from Apple.
5. Free trials
If a free trial is offered, its length and the conversion price are shown on the paywall before you confirm the purchase. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends using the Settings steps above. Trial days already used are not refunded.
6. What happens after cancellation
- Your Premium features remain unlocked until the end of the period you already paid for.
- After that, your account reverts to the free tier. Your plant records, notes, and history remain — nothing is deleted.
- You can resubscribe at any time from the paywall inside the app.
7. Account deletion is separate from cancellation
Cancelling your subscription does not delete your Dr. PlantCare account. If you want your data removed, go to Profile → Delete Account in the app. Likewise, deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription — cancel the subscription first.
